An RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) is a paraprofessional who delivers behavior analytics related services directly to clients under the close, ongoing supervision of supervisors like BCBA analyst or BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst).

#2 Respond Appropriately to Feedback and Improve Accordingly (F2)

As an RBT, you are expected to receive feedback from your supervisor (it could be BCBA or BCaBA) in a professional and respectful way and you have to make active efforts to improve your performance based on that feedback.

#3 Communicate with Stakeholders Only as Authorized (F3)

As an RBT technician, it is important to communicate with various stakeholders including parents, care takers, teachers, and others only when authorized by your supervising BCBA or BCaBA. If any of the stakeholder asks a questions outside of your scope, you have to inform them that you will pass their concerns to the supervising behavior analyst. One of the core responsibilities of an RBT is maintaining client dignity which is very important task in professional works. The F5 section of RBT Professional Conduct Study Guide highlights some of the important things includes kindness, reating all the clients with respect and sensitivity regardless of their age, abilities, or behavior. Also, you should always support your clients independence, honor their preferences when appropriate, and ensure their privacy and confidentiality are protected. Moreover, you should always avoid using language or actions that could be disrespectful, demeaning, or dismissive.
